Time to Get Outdoors

Taking the Learning Outdoors

The leading governing bodies and associations involved in helping schools take teaching and learning outdoors have united to set out an ambitious but simple plan to help schools adapt their lessons, curriculum and learning environments.

The OEAP guidance for ‘Outdoor Learning and Off-site Visits during the Pandemic’ offers useful advice on protective measures for outdoor learning. Delivering programmes of regular, progressive lessons outside the classroom will also help benefit your pupils’ health and wellbeing, both at home and at school. The link to this guidance will help your planning and support the outdoor learning whilst maintaining any current Government guidance.

National Insect Week

There are many resources available for your learning beyond the classroom. The LOtC list of free resources has been provided by many outdoor education providers to help you with ideas and resources.

National Insect Week is next week and we can direct you to lots of resources and activities to learn about insects and support the work of the Royal Entomological Society.

A quick click on the links above will provide you with the tools, resources and ideas to plan your learning in the outdoors.
