16th April 2021: Juniper Education has today announced a partnership with Secure Schools to provide schools with a one-stop platform for school cyber security governance, risk, and compliance.
At a time when schools and trusts are having to meet extraordinary challenges, the move will mean Juniper Education can better support schools and trusts with cyber security audit reviews as part of its internal scrutiny programme. Now that both financial and non-financial risks require assessment as part of a trust’s Internal Scrutiny Programme including a cyber security review provides trusts with an independent, expert assessment on its cyber risks and action plans to improve cyber resilience.
With many school staff and pupils working from home or remote learning, there have been increased levels of cyber related fraud over the past twelve months so a cyber security review could not be more relevant.
The partnership brings Secure Schools into Juniper’s existing offering of software and solutions used by more than 10,000 primary and secondary schools, academies and trusts which includes advanced pupil assessment tracking tools, an innovative management information system (MIS) and an integrated suite of subscription-based education software and services that support schools and multi-academy trusts in the delivery of education.

Secure Schools establish the level at which your school or trust is fulfilling its duties and responsibilities concerning cybersecurity with a set of standards including expectations set by UK government agencies. The sources and schemes that have been combined to create the standard for the review are; Department for Education (DfE), Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and IASME Consortium.
