What is the Communicate Module?

The Communicate Module connects your school website to the Juniper Education App, making it easier to keep families informed without adding to staff workload or managing multiple communication channels.

Information shared on your website automatically appears in the app, ensuring parents receive consistent updates in one place.

With the Communicate Module, schools can:

  • Automatically share news, newsletters and calendar events from their website into the app
  • Send secure one-way messages to parents
  • Keep communication consistent and easy to manage
  • Provide families with a single, familiar place to access updates and key dates
  • Take a more planned and organised approach to parent communication

By bringing communication together, schools can improve engagement with families while reducing the time spent managing different platforms.

From website to app

Built to boost parental engagement and communication

Content sync
  • School news, newsletters and calendar events delivered to the Juniper Education app
  • Connect existing Microsoft or Google Calendars
Removing manual sharing and duplication helps ensure communication is consistent and reliable, so families receive the same information at the same time, reducing confusion and missed messages.
Targeted updates
  • Share information with specific cohorts, year groups, families or staff
  • Branded, mobile-friendly HTML newsletters
  • Consistent, accessible delivery without email, paper or SMS
Targeted and accessible updates allow schools to engage families in ways that feel relevant and inclusive. By improving reach and accessibility, schools can strengthen relationships with harder-to-reach families and support more equitable communication across the school community.
Enhanced messaging
  • One-way messaging to individuals or groups
  • Prevents replies, protecting staff time and boundaries
Clear boundaries help schools move towards more purposeful communication. Structured, one-way messaging reduces reactive contact while still keeping parents informed, supporting a calmer and more manageable approach to parental engagement.

Your Communicate questions answered

What is the Juniper Education App?

The Juniper Education App is a mobile app designed for parents.

It allows schools to share important information directly with families, helping parents stay informed about their child at school.

Parents can also receive messages from the school, view attendance statistics and send absence notifications through the app.

Do staff need to post updates in multiple places?

No. Staff only need to publish updates on the website. Those updates can then automatically appear in the app for parents.

This helps reduce duplicated communications and saves staff time.

Do parents need to download the app?

Yes. You will need to invite parents, then they will need to download the Juniper Education App to receive updates from your school.

Once connected to your school, they will be able to view news, newsletters and events shared through the Communicate module.

Parents can also receive messages from the school, view attendance statistics and send absence notifications through the app.

How are parents invited to the Juniper Education App?

Schools will need to approve Wonde permissions, which will allow them to invite parents through the portal.

Once parents accept the invite, they will be able create their account, download the app and get started!

Will parents receive notifications?

Parents will receive notifications for app messages, news articles and newsletters, if they have notifications for the app enabled on their device.

What if parents do not want to use the app?

Parents can still access information through the school website as they do now.

The Communicate module simply provides an additional way for families to stay informed.

Can we control what appears in the app?

Yes. Schools retain complete control over all website content. The app simply reflects the information you choose to publish. You may select either automatic approval or manual approval for new content.

The Juniper App brings key areas of school life together in one place, helping staff save time while keeping families informed, engaged and connected.
