Enhancing data-driven decisions with Sisra Analytics and Pupil Progress
Juniper Education has partnered Sisra Analytics with Pupil Progress, uniting whole-school performance insights with curriculum-level, exam board-specific tracking.
About the trust
The Mead Educational Trust (TMET) comprises six secondary schools, eight primary schools and one special school across Leicestershire.
Formed in 2014, TMET is a well-established and respected multi-academy trust with a growing family of schools. The trust exists to make a positive difference in the life chances of children and young people, as well as in the wider community.
Anna Hayes, Assistant Principal at Orchard Mead Academy (part of TMET), has worked within the trust for several years, previously based at Castle Mead Academy. Her role focuses on improving outcomes and raising achievement at Orchard Mead.

The Challenge
Before implementing Pupil Progress alongside Sisra Analytics, the trust relied on a combination of Excel spreadsheets and Bromcom to track progress. Different departments used different systems, making it difficult to maintain consistency and quality assurance across subjects and schools.
This inconsistency made it challenging for leadership teams to gain a clear picture of performance and for teachers to provide consistent, effective feedback to students.
“Every subject had its own approach, so tracking and analysing progress across the curriculum was really hard. Conversations about data often felt surface-level rather than truly impactful.”
Why Juniper
Sisra Analytics had long been part of TMET’s data landscape, providing a reliable overview of whole-school and cohort performance. When exploring ways to strengthen curriculum-level analysis and feedback, the trust decided to introduce Pupil Progress to complement Sisra.
“Sisra helps us see the bigger picture: cohort performance, key measures, and trends. Pupil Progress then adds the layer of why: identifying curriculum gaps and showing how far students are from their next grade.”
Together, the two platforms give teachers, middle leaders, and senior leaders a joined-up view of performance — from high-level trends to individual learning needs.
Results: More powerful conversations and more accurate predictions
Since integrating Sisra Analytics and Pupil Progress, TMET has seen measurable improvements in leadership discussions, staff confidence, and data accuracy.
- More accurate predictions: The gap between forecast and actual results reduced from 10–15% to around 5% at Castle Mead Academy.
- Stronger curriculum insights: Teachers can now identify specific learning gaps and tailor feedback to help students progress to the next grade.
- Improved student feedback: Student reports generated in Pupil Progress help students understand their marks and what to focus on next.
“The conversations we’re having now are so much more purposeful. We can talk about why certain gaps exist and what we’re doing to close them.”
A smooth supportive partnership
Anna praised the reliability of both systems and the support provided by Juniper Education.
“We’ve always found Sisra brilliant, and introducing Pupil Progress has really strengthened how we use data.”
Recommendation
“Sisra is a brilliant tool for tracking whole-school performance, while Pupil Progress brings that crucial curriculum-level detail.
Used together, they make data conversations far more powerful — from trust level down to individual classrooms.” — Anna Hayes, Assistant Principal, Orchard Mead Academy
