Building a culture

There are many building blocks that put school leaders in a position to fulfil their school's central purpose: educating pupils.

This training and development pathway, developed by Juniper Education's experts, is designed to maximise the impact of your investment in regulatory training. We draw links between different areas of pupil success: safety, well-being, and learning.

Our fully-remote, three-pronged programme begins with ensuring a safe environment for pupils and guaranteeing that statutory requirements for keeping children safe are fulfilled. Once safety is ensured, the programme focuses on pupil well-being, followed by learning and academic achievement. Each module builds on the last to ensure continuity for delegates, helping you gain the insight and depth of knowledge you need to build a culture of excellence in your school.

All programmes are expert-led and delivered online, with a choice of dates available for each course and are open to any member of your school staff to attend. Certification can be provided for all training undertaken.

Module 1: Safeguarding

Safeguarding pupils is the responsibility of everybody in all educational settings. From support staff to governors, we know it takes quality training, teamwork and diligence to create and maintain a safe environment. Quality learning cannot take place when staff or pupils feel unsafe. This programme will equip school leaders with the knowledge and expertise to ensure maximum safety for pupils and staff.

While our programme helps you to fulfil your statutory requirements, we want schools to thrive far beyond these obligations. This programme goes further and allows education leaders to truly build a culture of complete safety of every kind: physical, mental, emotional, social and digital.

Module 2: Well-being

With staff and pupils’ safety ensured, the school needs to ensure that pupils are ready to learn.

Well-being covers all aspects of a pupil’s health: physical, mental, and emotional. Staff, too, will have similar needs to be able to lead that learning.

Well-being

Module 3: Learning

With the building blocks in place, pupils and staff are ready to build a learning environment.

Developing staff skills, approaches, and processes is key to assessment which informs pupils’ next steps at its heart.

Module 1: Keeping Pupils Safe

Pupil safety is defined broadly. From premises to first aid training, we know it takes more than barricades and caution signs to maintain a safe environment. Quality learning cannot take place in an unsafe environment. This programme will equip school leaders with the knowledge and expertise to ensure emergency readiness and maximum safety for pupils, staff, and the wider school community.

While our programme helps you fulfil your statutory requirements for safeguarding, we want schools to thrive far beyond regulatory obligations. This programme will allow education leaders to truly build a culture of complete safety of every kind: physical, mental, emotional, social, and digital.

Module 2: Well-being

With the safety of staff and pupils secured, schools must also ensure that pupils are ready to learn. Well-being covers all aspects of a pupil’s health: physical, mental, and emotional. Staff, too, will have similar needs to be able to lead that learning.

Hear from schools across the UK who love and trust our CPD training.

I always find these courses and updates really useful and I think everyone teaching in EYFS, Year 2 and Year 6 should come to them!
Great Easton C of E VA Primary School on the School Assessment Leader Updates (SALs) course
This course impacted upon me how important it is to keep safeguarding at the forefront of all you do - especially with staff - being curious.
Emma Stanhope, St Mary's School for Girls on the Level 3 Safeguarding course
The course tutor was really good and the course was very informative. I particularly liked that he answered our questions thoroughly and in the context we needed. The course has meant that I am now more confident to challenge decisions that I disagree with from other agencies.
Katie Allen, Larkrise Primary Academy on the Level 3 Safeguarding course
The course was clear and there was good delivery of content. I have learned how to better escalate concerns.
Katie Brown, R A Butler Junior School on the Level 3 Safeguarding course
This course was well organised and run, and will have a direct impact on ensuring pupils are safeguarded to the best of the schools ability at all times.
Ally Farrar, William de Ferrers School on the Level 3 Safeguarding course
Lots of information and good ideas for me to use. It’s hard to make it more interactive on teams but using the chat facility helped. The impact of this course will be to plan more comprehensively, making sure to cover all bases and focus on key areas one at a time. I will discuss with my job share so that we can optimise learning for the children. I like the idea of free writing opportunities and more peer evaluation.
Katie Mcinnes, St Mary's C of E VA Primary School on the Teaching Writing course
I think I have expected too much from the children in the past. This course has enabled me to break things down into smaller chunks - so the children achieve - before switching focus to another aspect of their writing.
Vanessa Williams, Brickfields Multi Academy Trust on the Teaching Writing course
Lots of fantastic ideas that we could immediately action in school.
Lestacia Stephen, Hermitage Primary School on the Teaching Writing course
