Juniper Education has today announced the acquisition of Maze Education, an online assessment and reporting business that provides information on individual pupils’ performance to primary schools.
Maze Education enables schools to drill down into their pupil data for individual strands and sub-strands of the curriculum. Maze takes schools’ test data and creates reports which show how pupils performed on each question, allowing schools to zoom right into each child’s performance, unlike the majority of other assessment tracking and MIS solutions.
Schools can not only spot the strengths and development areas a child has within a subject but also which area of the curriculum they relate to such as vocabulary, grammar or punctuation. The technology creates instant pupil reports, saving schools time and helping them get the most from their data.
The acquisition expands Juniper Education’s portfolio of software and services to monitor pupils’ progress in the 7,000 schools that use its software. Maze joins the Target Tracker, OTrack and Classroom Monitor software already provided by Juniper.
Gavin Freed, chairman of Juniper Education, says: “Schools want to be able to provide tailored support to the children in their classrooms. Maze Education has developed solutions to help schools understand each pupil’s strengths and areas for support so they can design more personalised interventions. Maze brings a new level of insight to Juniper’s offering to schools.”
Chris Toyne, director at Maze Education, says: “We’re very excited to be joining the Juniper family. Together we can help schools understand exactly how each child in their classrooms is performing in all aspects of their learning, and make sure no child gets left behind.”
