Though the normal statutory assessment frameworks are currently suspended we know they’ll be back. So it’s useful to just remind ourselves what’s coming up we need to prepare for.
Juniper Education has confirmed with the DfE that “at present, the requirements for 2020/21 statutory assessments, including the implementation of the reception baseline in September 2020, are unchanged”.
For more information view the reception baseline assessment guidance.
The DfE also recommend contacting the NFER helpline on 0330 088 4171 or emailing email@example.com.
Even though the consultation (as of 6th May 2020) has not been published, ‘early adopter’ schools will be assessing their Foundation Stage pupils against the proposed new framework from September 2020.
More information on Early years foundation stage reforms can be found on the Department for Education website and I’ll cover what’s changed in more detail in a future Juniper Express post; stay tuned!

The check window was supposed to open on 8th June 2020 for a 3-week period, however that won’t be happening this year. We can presume that the MTC will be back for 2021 as part of the 2021 key stage 2 assessment and reporting arrangements, and at the moment the guidance page says it will next be updated in the 2020/21 test cycle.
