A large part of our Spring and Summer terms are spent supporting schools with statutory assessments.

So over the next few months we’re going to share our ‘To do’ list, as well as the need-to-know information around the statutory processes…

New for 2020

  • Primary Assessment Gateway replaces NCA Tools – opens on 17th February for registration of Yr2, 4 and 6 pupils
  • Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) in June
    • designed to test speed recall of multiplication tables facts
    • children will have 6 seconds to answer each question and record answers using a computer
    • the DfE have published administration and system guidance (including IT requirements) etc. here

To do in January

  • Familiarise relevant staff with ARAs for EYFS, KS1 (including Phonics) and KS2 (including Year 4 MTC)
  • Make sure you have added assessments@education.gov.uk to your safe senders list to ensure you see emails from the Primary Assessment Gateway
  • Identify children who are at risk of not meeting ARE in one aspect or subject and who could benefit from targeted intervention
